I’m going to let you in on a little secret: your About page isn’t really about you.
While the About page is the perfect place to share more of your expertise, brag on your credibility, and educate your audience further, your About page is really about your dream client. More specifically, it’s about how YOU are uniquely positioned to solve a problem for them or deliver a specific result that they’re looking for.
Not sure what to include in your About page? Here are four must-haves you won’t want to miss when refreshing your About page:
Reassure them and remind them that they’re in good hands if they’re looking for what you offer, fit certain qualifiers for working with you, or are otherwise in-line with the type of product or service you provide.
After you’ve grabbed their attention with a snappy headline and assured them they are where they’re supposed to be, step up to the mic and say hi!
Describe your process, what the reader can expect once they hit the “SUBMIT” button on your inquiry form. Really get illustrative when it comes to describing what your clients or buyers can expect by saying “HELL YEAH!” to working with you.
Slap a “Contact Me” button right there and personally invite them to slide into your DMs, make a purchase, join your mailing list, or another actionable item that makes sense.
The last thing you want to do is confuse your readers. Remember: confused people don’t buy! Above all, write with confidence and clarity over wit or cleverness.
